Ten years ago, we met in Dublin, where our shared love of adventure quickly made us inseparable. Our first date at Dakota turned into a lasting relationship built on love and friendship. After several years, we moved to Leiden, Netherlands, and fell for its charming canals and lively atmosphere. Here, we took the step of buying our first home and started building our future together.
Now, we are thrilled to take the next big step and celebrate our wedding in Leiden on August 16, 2025, surrounded by all of you. Thank you for being part of our journey so far—we can’t wait to create many more memories with you in the years to come!

Celebrating the Love of Nikki & Ruben at the amazing Hortus Botanicus nestled in the heart of Leiden. This Hortus Botanicus is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world, dating back to 1590. This enchanting location, filled with lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and historic charm, provides a serene and picturesque setting which is just perfect to celebrate our special day with our loved ones.

Welcome to the beautiful Hortus Botanicus!
15:00 – Wedding Ceremony
Join us as Nikki & Ruben exchange their vows in the beautiful Orangery surrounded by the serene beauty of nature.
16:00 – Toast
Raise a glass to the newlyweds! A moment to celebrate their union and wish them a lifetime of happiness.
16:15 – 18:30 – Reception & Drinks
Enjoy drinks, music and some bites as we mingle and enjoy each other’s company on the terrace of the Orangery.
18:30 – 21:00 – Dinner
A delightful meal will be served as we gather for an evening filled with love, laughter, and shared memories.
21:00 – 01:00 – Party
Let’s dance the night away! Join us for an unforgettable evening of music, dancing, and celebration under the stars.

Traveling to Leiden
Leiden is conveniently accessible from three major airports in the Netherlands: Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam The Hague Airport, and Eindhoven Airport. From Amsterdam Schiphol, you can reach Leiden Central Station in just 20 minutes by direct train. Rotterdam The Hague Airport offers a quick connection with a short tram ride to Rotterdam Central, followed by a 30-minute train to Leiden. From Eindhoven Airport, expect a journey of around 1.5 hours with a combination of bus and train services.
From Leiden Central Station to Hortus Botanicus
Once at Leiden Central Station, the Hortus Botanicus is just a pleasant 15-minute walk through the historic city center. Alternatively, you can take a short taxi or bike ride if you prefer.

Our Story
Ten years ago, our paths crossed in the heart of Dublin, a city filled with charm, history, and a certain magic that brought us together. We both found ourselves drawn to the vibrant energy of the city, and it wasn't long before our shared love of adventure, good food, and great company made us inseparable. What began as a first date through a dating website over several cocktails on one of Dublin's oldest spots Dakota blossomed into a relationship built on love, shared dreams, and a deep friendship.
After spending several years in Dublin, we decided to take on a new adventure—this time, to the picturesque city of Leiden in the Netherlands. With its charming canals, cobbled streets, and buzzy student life around, we instantly fell in love with our new home. It was here, in this beautiful Dutch city, that we took the exciting step of buying our very first family home—a place where we could begin to build our future together.
In the years that followed, our family grew, and in 2020, we welcomed our son Ollie into the world. He’s now 4 years old, and brings more joy, laughter, and wonder into our lives than we ever could have imagined. Watching him grow has been one of our greatest adventures yet.
Throughout our journey, we’ve continued to share our love for good food, great wine, travel and great times with friends. Whether it's cooking a special meal at home, discovering a new restaurant, or simply having fun with loved ones, we cherish the connections that bring us together and the simple pleasures that life has to offer.
As we look ahead to the next chapter of our lives, we are so excited to celebrate this next big step—our wedding—and to share it with all of you. We are so excited to celebrate our special day with you! To match the warmth and joy of the occasion, we kindly ask that you embrace a “summer chic” dress code. This means light, elegant attire that reflects the relaxed yet sophisticated spirit of the season.
Ladies, think flowy dresses in soft fabrics and fresh, summery colors or floral patterns, paired with comfortable sandals or wedges. Gentlemen, lightweight suits in shades like beige or soft blue, with open-collar shirts or a touch of color through a pocket square, will be perfect.
